The Kitty Sitter Cat Sitting Team For every cat sitter position available at the Kitty Sitter, we get an overwhelming number of applications. Because of this, we can afford to be very selective with whom we employ. Each sitter is interviewed, fully reference checked, police checked and trained. It goes without saying that each sitter must absolutely adore cats and have an affinity with them. In addition, each sitter must have extensive experience in dealing with cats (and other small pets) and be knowledgeable in cat health and cat behaviour. Laurie Arrowsmith, 31 years old
Laurie started the Kitty Sitter Cat Sitting business in 2006 because she couldn’t bear to leave her kitties in a cattery and started investigating alternative care. When she discovered there was little in the way of specialised inhome cat care, she started the Kitty Sitter. Raised in a cat mad family owning 4+ cats at any one time, and now the proud Mum of Mika and Leo (pictured), it is an understatement to say that Laurie absolutely loves cats. Laurie volunteers regularly at the RSPCA and Cat Protection Society and works from time to time with animal charities Cat Rescue and Sydney Pet Rescue & Adoption. She is also a member of the Cat Protection Society and an RSPCA Animal Advocate and regular donor. Claire Simpson, 26 years old
Claire works part time as a Vet Nurse and part time as a Kitty Sitter Cat Sitter. Claire has undertaken animal care and management studies and has a total of 4 years experience as a Vet Nurse. Before joining the Kitty Sitter, Claire already had a background in minding people's pets and houses when they were holidaying. Claire has grown up with a number of pets and currently owns a beautiful kitty called Tillie (pictured). Nikki Savvides, 28 years old
Nikki had significant experience looking after people’s cats and other pets before joining the Kitty Sitter. Nikki has four cats of her own, all of which she rescued from the streets! Nikki has experience working as a Veterinary Assistant in London, and is a confident and capable handler of many animals, from cats and dogs to horses, ferrets and cows. She is a passionate animal lover who is undertaking postgraduate research and tutoring in animal studies, with a particular focus on welfare and ethics. |
